RevuDo
Sadly RevuDo is no more. At least as a Windows app.
RevuDo was based on the first version of Nozbe’s API and Nozbe for good reasons moved on. When they took down support for the original API, RevuDo broke.
My first hope was that I could switch to the new API, but making a classic Windows app play well with OAuth authentication was not pretty.
I have begun the work to rewrite RevuDo as a web site. I will not make any promises when or if that will come to light. The world has had other plans for my time recently and I am not able to see yet when that might change.

Does the 0.5.? Version the latest and does it work with current Nozbe?
They have no way to import their backups and no one has a conversion for their text file to json, cvs, anything to import back into nozbe or other task manager?

The latest version is 0.5.3. I am not aware of any issues connecting to Nozbe. I was in fact connected about an hour ago. Can you provide any additional detail?
You should find log files at %localappdata%\ReVuDo\Errors

Good morning Michael,
Thanks for your work on this program. I have been using ReVuDo for a while and really appreciate the search feature it provides for Nozbe.
Recently it seems like the search feature is missing a few completed tasks.
Recently I search for a completed task by using the persons name that was entered in the task. For example if I had a task “Send thank you note to Sandy” and I completed this task.
I had about 5 tasks in the specific category with Sandy in the task description. It found 2 of the 5.
I found a completed task on 3/1/19 in Nozbe under this category that did not show in the search.
I am using Nozbe 3.9.2 for windows and ReVuDo version 5.3.2
Do you have any suggestions?

Ellen, right now the functionality is minimal but it will be growing.
Once you install it, run it (the icon will be on the Start Menu) and logon to Nozbe. It will take a few seconds to download your projects (time depends on how many you have).
Once the information is downloaded, a list of your projects will open. You can sort any column by clicking the column header. Click a second time to reverse the sort.
You can also filter by typing text in the filter section at the top.
One useful thing to try is to sort on Labels. This will sort all the unlabelled projects together. I do this as part of my weekly review.
Another useful thing is to sort on NAs (or Next Actions). If there are lots of Actions but no Next Actions I go into Nozbe.com and give some thought to what my next action is.
To see what is in a project, double click it and it will open another window with that projects tasks.
After you have used it, please let me know what you would most like to see added next. I am thinking that the next changes will be a way to view the Inbox, a way to view actions with dates (a calendar), and some clean up on the task view which is not complete yet.

Wow, thanks really helpful with the different views. One of things I’d like to be able to do at some point is print different views, such as Next Actions, Project List. The other feature I’d love to see is being able to hide the completed projects so they don’t show up. Really nice app. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks so much for the response. It is very clear on how to do it.
Here is my issue. I have a project called “Notes”. I have been adding peoples names as tasks to this project and when I send them a note, I click the task completed.
So currently it is showing no tasks in this project (which is correct)
When I click “Show Done” it will show 1 task, (which is correct, almost) because I completed that one task today. however it will not show me tasks completed earlier this week. If I go into NOZBE and show completed tasks they will be listed, i just cannot sort or search them. Your product does that and it is very cool.
I could email you the 3 screen dumps so you could see what is going on.
I hope this makes sense

I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and can install ReVuDo 0.3.2b w/o any problems. I run it, I get to login screen and input my credentials. The application seems to log in Nozbe (because when I use wrong password it tells me so). Afterwards “Loading your information from Nozbe. It does the same on the virtualized Windows XP 32-bit.

Interesting application, Michael. k I just downloaded and installed it and have started to look at how it works. It is reasonably self-documenting. For the present I have only one suggestion – on the filter line, it would be good to have a button to erase the content of the filter with one single mouse tap instead of having to erase the whole field in the filter box.
I will have more comments, questions, suggestions later, but fo the time being, that is my first suggestion. Thanks for the effort. Looks like a promising start to something that could be very useful.

Hi
I’m using your ReVuDo version 0.3.5.2. Works with my Windows 7 64-bit. One bug found so far. I got multiple displays, 5 to be exact. The grid looks like to row 2×30″, bottom row 20″,30″,20″.
When I open your program it opens on my left 20″ screen, not on the primary middle screen (bottom, 30″).
How does one manipulate stuff with this? Create a task, complete a task and so on?
Leivo
2011/07/17 at 11:54 am
I’ve only tested on dual monitors so far. I’m envious of your 5. If I’m not mistaken the windows should always open on the primary monitor now. I can look into adding an option to use the last monitor instead. Did you have another idea?
As for adding and editing ReVuDo is readonly for now. That will start to change after I add printing (in process) and exporting.

2011/07/17 at 4:00 pm
Hi.
I ran the program a second time, after your comment. My primary display is the bottom row middle one. Every start that I now make opens the program in the primary display. It would seem, but I have not tested this, that the first time it opens in a different display. I’ll give it a try when I have time.
I’m looking forward for fully functional version. This could be something I’m willing to pay for 🙂

2011/07/22 at 8:49 pm
I have not yet found anything that does as well as Nozbe. Sure, there are things that I want that they haven’t done, but I suspect they will fill those gaps once they have the Windows, Mac, and Android clients fully developed. In the meantime, I am targeting the gaps. You asked about iPad support. That is outsourced to Macoscope, and it does well for portable access to context lists and adding things on the run. I’d love to be able to do a weekly review on the iPad, but I am not expecting that to happen. Bottom line is I am glad I bought it.

Normally when downloading a file on Windows, the file will be stored in your Downloads folder. On Windows 7, click the start button and type Downloads in the search box. The Downloads folder should appear on the start menu. The file to look for is called ReVuDoSetup.0.4.8.1.exe
I hope that helps. If not, please tell me what version of Windows you are using and whether you are using IE, Firefox, Chrome or some other web browser.

Feature request – be able to change multiple tasks at the same time. For example, I had a context @Computer but decided what I really needed was two contexts–home computer @HC and work computer @WC. I would love to be able to select a number of tasks in my @Computer context and move them to my @HC context. I used to be able to do that in a kludge sort of way with the Nozbe backup and restore feature by editing the .txt file. However, Nozbe has turned off–temporarily, I believe–the restore/import function on Nozbe.com

I am new to Nozbe (started today) and looked for the option to print also the task comments. The research led to your program and I just checked the functionality. Perhaps I am blind, but if not, I would like to see the option to print all tasks of a project, including “Done” (what is possible already), but with an inidicator, that they are done already. THX in advace for an answer or a hint on how to do it right.

Yes, the task printing was not updated to handle done tasks. I have posted an update to fix that at ReVuDo 0.5.0.3.
I hope this helps you.

Hi, installation on english Win7 64 bit. went fine but while trying to export as csv version 0.5.0.3. breaks. Alle files like task.csv, context.csv and tag.csv etc. are generated but not (the much needed) project.csv. I’ve had a 0.3.x.x. before which works fine but could find the setup.exe. Is there a history of old version available for download ? cheer Christian

Hi, installed most current version 0.5.0.3. which works fine on Win7 english 64-bit. However I’m experiencing application hang up while exporting to csv. All files like task.csv, tag.csv are available but not the most neededone: project.csv. How to fix ? BTW: is there a history log of old setup.exe files available ? I remember that a 0.3.x.x. worked fine for me. Thx Christian

I will look into that. Here is a link to 0.3.8 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18214371/ReVuDoSetup.0.3.8.0.exe
Let me know if that makes any difference.
Also, if you can send me a copy of the log file from the crash that would help me locate the cause. On Windows 7 and 8 the logs can be found at C:\Users\?\AppData\Local\ReVuDo\Errors where ? is your Windows logon name.

I love your app. It handles a lot of the things that NOZBE doesn’t, as you say. I’m looking forward to your app helping me stay on the GTD path. I have a basic question. What does a negative order value signify in the projects and next actions view?
Hal Winslow
2012/12/27 at 12:02 pm
Nozbe keeps projects and tasks in the order you set by assigning a number to each item. If you drag an item to a new location, Nozbe updates the numbers to match the change in order. Since they never show the numbers, and it is easier to just change one number and not renumber everything, sometimes they go negative.
RevuDo shows the numbers as a simple way to allow you to reset the sorted order to the way Nozbe would.
Good luck with GTD. It is something to practice, not something we ever get perfect. If you have not read Bill Meade’s blog on Restarting GTD http://restartgtd.com/, I highly recommend it.

Michael,
I just downloaded ReVuDo. I wouls like to print the project list as it is displayed (almost a ‘print screen’. What I am missing is the gridlines when I print. Is there anyway to remedy this?
Thanks,

I have not provided support for grid lines as I personally found them distracting.
I can look into adding them as an option if you like.
Alternatively, if you have Excel, rather than printing from RevuDo, select the cells in RevuDo that you want to print, press Ctrl-C to copy them and paste into Excel. You can then use Excel to print what you copied. If that is not clear, let me know and I will post a more detailed procedure.

Michael,
This is a really nice supplement to Nozbe! Thanks. You provide a number of ways to export date (CSV, XML and JSON). What I’d really like to do though is export the file to the TXT format used for importing items into Nozbe via email. I am not a programmer, so I don’t know if these is even practical. What do you think? Thanks again.
Jacques Laufer
2013/06/01 at 6:55 pm
I gave that some thought and then forgot about it. I certainly could look into adding that option.
The main reason I did not add it originally is that it did not allow for exporting everything (file attachments for example), but I understand the interest.
Allow me some time to look into it.

Hello,
first of all THX.
I have a couple questions
1) Can I export (to csv) JUST a context, or a project. Everytime it exports ALOT of info.
2) My export is broken in the sense that my comments dont stay in their respective cells, rendering the doc useless. Could you take a look? Where can i send this file?
yoann bohbot
2013/08/26 at 8:02 am
1. You cannot export just a selected portion, but once you have all the files, open the tasks.csv in Excel and filter on the project or context that you want.
2. There is a bug exporting CSV right now where items are exported with new lines that throw off the CSV. I am working on that and should post a new version soon.

I am working on publishing a new version but I do not want to make you wait on the blog post. Here is a link to version 0.5.0.19 which should resolve the export to csv issue (and a few other bugs).
I should also have mentioned that if you use the filter and sorting ability to get just what you want on the screen, press Ctrl-A to select all items, and then Ctrl-C to copy. Open Excel or other spreadsheet and paste into a blank worksheet.
Please let me know if the new version works for you.
Thanks.

Hi
Thanks for developing this software. Being able to recap what has been done and when is a feature I miss for Nozbe right from the start.
I just became aware of your software. Unluckily, it doesn’t work for me. If I try to login, the login dialog responds that the email/password combination is incorrect. I checked many times, tested it at the nozbe website. Name and password seem to be correct. I’m sitting behind a company proxy, which already caused a lot of problems. Maybe that’s the reason this time again?

The latest version should handle your company’s proxy if Internet Explorer works. I copy the proxy settings from IE. Can you check that and let me know?

I checked. IE does work, RevuDo still doesn’t. I can’t check its internet connection settings, since I don’t get beyond the login dialog.I checked, that I’ve got the latest Revudo version.

PS Found you via a nozbe forum search for printing out project lists but fyi the link there goes to a 401 page on your website which you may want to fix so more people can find you!

Hello Michael, I love the RevuDo program! It is so very helpful! I have used it for some time on my windows 7 machine. Recently it stopped working and I downloaded 5.3. I am unsure what could be wrong, I suggest starting with uninstalling RevuDo. Then go to Explorer and go to %localappdata%\ReVuDo and delete the folders and files there. That will remove the local cache of your Nozbe data.
Finally run the setup program again.
Let me know if that works or not. If not we can look into this in more detail.

I downloaded the latest version of your program in order to faciliate a move to Toodledo. It loads my Nozbe data fine. However, it crashes upon export of either XML or CSV files. It doesn’t crash when I export a JSON file; however, the file created appears not to contain any actual data. I’m running Win10-64. I’ve tried all the various compatibility combinations that I can think of — WinXP, Win7, Win8, with or without Administrative privileges. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. — Carl

The column labeled Order is a number that Nozbe assigns to indicate the order. If you sort on that in ascending order it should match Nozbe.

Working on it though given other commitments this will not be quick.
The backstory is that Nozbe changed their API and recently stopped supporting the Sync2 API that Revudo was based on.
When they took down the older API Revudo lost the ability to talk to Nozbe.
The fix is to change to using the newer API and that is what I am working on.
